Materials and Construction

Every Pin Art board is designed and hand made by us here in New Zealand.

We use only proven standard noticeboard materials e.g. softboard, purpose designed screen fabrics and resins, Resene water based paints and treatments, magnetic and blackboard paint, blackboard vinyl (for commercial purposes), vinyl cut and laminated signage, Forbo Bulletin Board, porcelain on steel whiteboard, sustainable timber species etc.

Our boards are fitted with felt blocks on the back (to avoid marking the walls) and come read to hang like a picture (unless otherwise stated) - complete with all the fixings necessary to hang the board on a standard internal gib wall. Many of our residential board designs weigh about the same as a similarly sized and framed picture (between 3kg - 6kg) and will hang on two double picture hooks. Other fixings (for heavier boards, for permanent fixing, or where removable boards are required) are supplied and priced as is appropriate to the board’s purpose and positioning.
